I’m a native Chattanoogan, and I’ve working in information technology professionally since 1985. Most of that has been with the City of Chattanooga, where I’ve served in roles ranging including programming, server and database administration, and executive leadership. I currently enjoy the privilege of leading our software development team where we’re focusing on some transformative projects for local government and the citizens and businesses we’re proud to serve.
Making Stuff Work
That’s sort of my “thing.” I love a lot of aspects of technology, including writing code. But my sweet spot has always been more along the lines of orchestration.
I’m passionate about open-source software, and there are so many good tools out there today. Finding the right pieces and making them work together is one of my favorite things.
How I Do It
Enter the Agile Manifesto, which says that many of us value:
- Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
- Working software over comprehensive documentation
- Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
- Responding to change over following a plan
…and we have found that following these things makes the experience of developing and delivering technology better for all involved.
My Tech Spec
My numero uno is WordPress Multisite implementations against a background of LAMP or Docker/Swarm. This also infers expertise in WordPress development and the Linux – Apache – MariaDB – PHP stack.
I don’t just approach this from the standpoint of the technical, because tech is only one piece of the overall picture. With my company, KMD Enterprises, we provide complete solutions. Hit us up to learn more about what we can do for you.
And, perhaps most importantly...
I’m totally okay if you want to tell me to watch out for that big asteroid off the port bow… in fact, I’ll thank you for it! But don’t bother telling me my odds of failing at something I’ve set my mind to do.
Innovation isn’t easy; success is not the default. If I didn’t already know how to navigate my way around – or through – the obstacles, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I love what I do, and I’m very committed to successful outcomes for those to which I invest my services.
